Unless you own both an iPhone and an Android smartphone (lucky!), you may not even be aware that the Maya app looks different on the two operating systems.
Well, the #NowNation takes people from all walks of life and technological inclination.
Read on for a guide on how to use Maya’s basic functions on the OS of your choice!
View Virtual Maya Card
The Virtual Card (Visa for Globe subscribers, and Mastercard for Smart and other networks) is one of the best features of the Maya app: it allows you to shop online on any site that accepts Visa or Visa debit card payments!
If the lack of a credit or debit card has kept your from subscribing to Netflix or upgrading to Spotify Premium, now is your chance! Activate your virtual card by viewing it for the first time, and you’re good to go!

Add Money to Your Account
Since your virtual and physical Maya Visa cards function as debit cards, you have to add money to your Maya account to be able to spend it within your app or purchase stuff online.

From Home Screen:
1. Tap ADD MONEY (top right).
2. Choose and select and Add Money Partner from the list (e.g. 7-Eleven Cliqq Kiosk, Touchpay Kiosk, BDO Mobile Banking).
3. Do as applicable:
- Follow the instructions for the Add Money partner listed on the pop-up screen.
- Generate a single-use Add Money Code:
- Enter the amount you want to load to Maya (From P100.00 –P50,000.00 only per day).
- Tap CONTINUE.
- Input the Add Money Code into the terminal or provide it to the representative at the counter.
NOTE: Add Money Codes contain all the info needed for the transaction (Maya account number, etc.) and are only valid up to 30 minutes after generation.
4. Wait for a confirmation of a successful transaction via SMS from Maya.
Scan to Pay with Maya QR
If you spot one of our Maya QR standees at the counter of your go-to restaurant, department store, or boutique, you can scan to pay with just an internet connection and your Maya app.
Bonchon, McDonalds, Jollibee, and the SM Store are just a few of the merchants that now accept Maya QR! Check our Maya QR partners list – we update it regularly.

1. Tap SCAN (top center).
2. Align the small square on screen with the QR code on the Maya standee.
3. Enter the payment amount and tap CONTINUE.
4. Verify your payment details, then tap PAY.
5. Wait for a confirmation of your purchase via app notification/SMS from Maya.
Pay Your Bills with Maya
Part of what makes Maya so handy is that you can pay your personal and household utilities like Meralco, PLDT, Globe, and Maynilad digitally, without ever leaving your app!

1. Tap PAY BILLS (bottom center).
2. Choose the biller you want to pay from the list.
3. Enter the bill or account details, plus the amount you want to pay.
4. Verify your payment details, then tap PAY.
5. Wait for a confirmation of your purchase via app notification/SMS from Maya.

From Home Screen:
1. Tap the Menu icon 
(top left).
2. Tap PAY BILLS.

Buy Load and Data Packages with Maya
With just the Maya app, an internet connection, and money in your account, you’ll never run out of cell phone or cable load ever again.

2. Select the type of package you want to buy: ELOAD, CALL & TEXT, and DATA.
3. Select the package you want to buy, then tap CONTINUE.
4. Verify your purchase details, then tap BUY.

1. Tap the Menu icon (top left).
2. Tap SHOP (bottom left).

Link a Maya Visa Card to Your Maya App
A Maya card that isn’t linked to your Maya app (and by extension, your account), is practically useless. Link up to three Maya cards to access your account balance, set your PIN, monitor your transactions in real time, and more!

1. Tap MORE (bottom right).
2. Tap MY CARDS, then LINK CARD.
3. Enter the card details (e.g. Number, CVV, Validity)
4. Tap LINK CARD again.

From Home Screen:
1. Tap the Menu icon (top left).
2. Tap MY CARDS, then LINK CARD.
3. Enter the card details (e.g. Number, CVV, Validity)
4. Tap LINK CARD again.
Block a lost Maya Card
You don’t need to contact a Maya representatives to block a lost card, you can do it yourself within your app! Once you lose a card and see transactions coming in that aren’t yours, all it takes is a few taps.
Make sure that your card really is lost, though: once you block a card that was previously linked to your app, you can never reconnect it or use it to purchase ever again.

3. Select the card you want to block (identified by the last 4 digits of the card number)
4. Tap BLOCK CARD.

Upgrade Your Maya Account
There are a lot of benefits to upgrading your Maya account: an increased Add Money limit (from P50,000 to P100,000), the ability to withdraw from Maya via Bancnet ATM, and the ability to send money digitally to your contacts.
To do so, you have to submit to a process called Know Your Customer (KYC), a customer identity verification step required by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
Here’s how to start the upgrade process within your app:
iOS
1. Tap MORE (bottom right).
2. Tap UPGRADE FOR FREE.
3. Fill out the necessary information (plus an accomplished Parental Consent Form for users under 18 years old) and take clear photos of 1 primary ID and 2 secondary IDs.
4. Wait for your upgrade validation code via SMS.
5. Have your face-to-face KYC meeting or call:
- Bring your requirements to the nearest Bayad Center and request to be upgraded.
- Have your KYC call anytime via your Maya app. Learn more here.
Android
1. Tap the Menu icon (top left).
2. Tap UPGRADE FOR FREE.

Send Money to Friends and Family
Once you’ve upgraded your account, you can now send money almost instantly to friends and family with a Maya or Smart Money account!

1. Tap SEND MONEY (bottom left).
2. Enter your recipient’s Mobile Number or press the + sign to search your phone contacts.
3. Enter the amount your want to send.
4. Select Maya or Smart Money, depending on the type of your recipient’s account.
5. Optional: Add a message to your money gift.
6. Tap CONTINUE.
7. Double-check your transaction details, then tap SEND.
8. Wait for an SMS confirmation of your transaction from Maya.
Android
From Home Screen:
1. Tap the Menu icon (top left).
2. Tap SEND MONEY (bottom left).

Change Your Maya Password
As a security measure, your Maya app will log off automatically after a specific period of idleness, like when it’s been left open in the background.
Of course, you can change your password anytime when the app if open. If you’ve been locked out of your app entirely, there is also a way to change your password on the Maya website!
On your browser
1. Open www.paymaya.com/forgot-password in your browser.
2. Enter your mobile number.
3. Wait for an email from Maya and click the reset link.
4. Type in your new password.

2. Tap SETTINGS, then CHANGE PASSWORD
3. Type in your new password.
